I found Loona while looking for incontinent care products for a medical condition I developed. Loona caught my eye, I thought it was in the wrong isle …. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. I’ve been using Loona for several months and bring it with me wherever I go. Bedside, travel, camping. I love its look, comfort fit and no leaks or spills. I’m so glad I found Loona. It’s brought a sense of normalcy And dignity back into my life while dealing with my medical condition. I’m purchasing Loonago, I’m so happy with Boom products : )
Fair warning - there may be TMI in this review - but really ladies let's be honest, OK? Because I know there are more ladies out there were they only need incontinence protection overnight due to not making it to their bathroom during the middle of the night! You know - you are pregnant or just had a child, or you have walking issues (crutches, cast, etc.), or you are now in perimenopause, menopause or are postmenopausal.. Or for some reason no matter how much you exercise that pelvic floor it ain't working... Yes this is for you! & I'm wondering "Why did I wait so long to get one of these???" - I'm telling you ladies that feeling to rush to the bathroom - only to not make it halfway there & now your pants are soaking wet? And you still got to go more? Or you wear incontinence panties or pads or liners hoping they'll hold it all by the time you get to the bathroom? This product is great! It holds a full 30 oz of fluid (per the info on the box).. Not sure you need to hold that much or not sure how much you empty out between your bed & the toilet? Before I ordered this, I started using disposable plastic cups the 18 oz variety - & discovered, that though the cups did catch most, many times I needed a second cup, because I didn't want to fill the cup to the top! (that will create a mess) & then I had to have tp near by to wipe because cups do not catch all the drips clinging onto the skin because cups are not as close & being it's dark, it wasn't always in place... Oops cups are messy but they're better than getting soaked by the time you reach the toilet. Then after using those cups, there's no lid so you are sleeping next to your urine on the nightstand - & then you have to carry it to your bathroom... & then if you have pets - good luck with them not being curious or knocking it over! 🙀🙀😒I found this product to be very easy to use, it has a light softness, a silicone top to place up against your woohaw & then you can use it to wipe excess drops or drips by gently pulling it forward against that area. Unlike the cups I was using - it was easy to hold & simple to use. It seems quite durable & I was able to put the lid on (which means no urine odor to smell while sleeping) & I actually set it on the floor close to my bed, instead of the nightstand - it really means less likely to get knocked over by a pillow, my arm or my cat. It was so fast. I was able to go back to sleep & when I finally woke for the day, I took it to my bathroom, opened the toilet lid & poured the fluid in the toilet bowl. Closed the toilet lid, flushed the toilet & rinsed out the container, I added just a drop or two of Dawn liquid detergent soap & some water, swished it around real good then rinsed it. Set it on the steps to take back up to my bedroom later on & now it will be good to go for tonight! For me the extra features are the ease of holding it, the slight curve so it catches the stream & the drops, the wider base at the bottom makes it very stable - harder to knock over than a disposable cup, has a lid to keep odor away. Very easy to clean & transport.
This is an absolute godsend!!! We are having work done in our home as a result of a sewer line flood in our basement/my bedroom. Our downstairs bathroom is torn apart as it was flooded as well. I can’t run upstairs very fast especially at night since I have a bad foot and don’t want to disturb our birds upstairs. I use this in my room at night. It will also come in handy when I have my next foot surgery done in a few weeks and won’t be able to move fast. It’s portable and I have no issues using it. Others complain the opening is not big enough. It’s plenty big enough. You just need to learn how to place it properly. It’s very easy for me.
Fit very comfortable between the legs. No oder in the room. Great for traveling. Easy cleanup. Remove the top and rubber seal wash or disinfect. Lysol blow cleaner is great for inside cleanup. I highly recommend 👌 this item.
Like some other reviewers, I did not relish the idea of having to remove the silicone insert to empty after using. So I took my inspiration from a fellow reviewer. I used an Xacto knife to cut a hole (see 1st pic). This lets me discreetly pour (water here) through the insert without having to remove it (see 2nd pic), pop the plastic lid back on, and get back on the trail. Best of all, way fewer mosquito bites because less skin is exposed! It's also great for dirty bathroom seats.
I have to pee 5 minutes after leaving the house (and I just went) so I needed this. Usually when I have to go, I squat over an empty fast food cup or something and end up making a mess everytime. It just never flows out neatly. I was afraid this wouldn’t contain the directionally challenged urine that exits , but it was 100% leak free , comfortable shape, and held my never ending stream, no overflow. It’s also nice if you forget to put the lid on and accidentally knock if over, the silicone insert blocks the spill from coming out as much, so remove the silicone part when you’re dumping. I asked a group of my guy friends what they thought this was and no one guess it was potty related. It is one of the more pricier options, but it’s worth it for me, to have peace of mind. Also great, finally we have an option that isn’t clear and shows the world what’s going on, it’s just so discreet, no dribble sounds, super quiet. I’d recommend this potty if you need to go at the worst of times.
While I now love my Loona I have to knock off a star for two reasons.1. Everything else from Amazon comes in an Amazon box with their logos. No I did not like coming home to see a box with a huge "Female Urinal" on it sitting on my front porch all day.2. The funnel was too small for me. I got this for our camping trips so I would not have to trek to the bathhouse in the middle of the night. On our last trip I had a terrible time. I kept getting urine on the floor and it took me a while to figure out that if I didn't hold the Loona upright perfectly urine would leak out. I cut the funnel and made the opening larger. This did the trick. No "accidents" on our last 2 week camping trip I do have to be a little more careful carrying it when it is full, but that's not a problem. I also can dump it out easier this way without having to remove the funnel. This also can make it louder, but after almost 40 years of marriage, I am not that bashful anymore. It's still quieter than a composting toilet.I bought this so we could take the composting toilet out of our converted shuttle bus. It's a great solution. 2:30 am I can get up and pee without having to get dressed and hurry to the bathhouse. Sometimes I don't even wake my husband. Falling back asleep is a lot faster too. I love the blue color. I think it resembles a bottle of fabric softener so it doesn't draw attention when I go to the bath house in the morning to dump and clean it.When I get home from our trips I clean it and put a little toilet bowl cleaner and water in it and let it soak. I think this keeps it smelling better.
I personally love it. I have interstitial cystitis (painful bladder syndrome) and I live somewhere where I have to walk a ways to the bathroom, this makes it so easy to get out of bed and pee, then go back to sleep, or else it would take me forever to fall back asleep. Can’t wait to use for camping too! It is a bit small, i’d say for me personally 3-5 pees, which if i’m not having a flare up is about what i pee at night, but if I was having a flare up I’d probably have to empty it half way through the night. I used it standing and squatting and didn’t have a problem with either method.
I travel to homes in dangerous areas for visits, it is not always easy to find safe places to use the restroom. I received this yesterday and made my first trip out with it today. I have tried every other product available because I drink alot of water and pee alot! I have tried disposable urinals, the plastic funnel looking ones, little potties. This is the best I have found, I think the trick is to hold it close to your area and pee slowly. You are able to tell how much it has filled by holding it up to light, it is not see through but you see the liquid shadow. I felt the size was adequate and I used it once today, it filled up about 1/3 the way. For me 3 uses per trip is sufficient. I got home, emptied into toilet and rinsed with soap and water in bathroom. I did not feel that touching the silicone to take off was gross, I just washed my hands again after rinsing. Overall, I this is the best product I have found and I have tried so many over the years. It is pricier than others but the trade off is that I don't have to buy more disposable ones again.Update: Still liking it! the more I use it the easier it gets to remember the angle I need to maneuver to in the car, practice makes perfect! No smells, I clean it immediate when I get home.
I bought this in anticipation of an upcoming car camping trip, but I actually just used it in my car while running errands. It’s a rainy day and a bit cold and my last stop of my errands was to go to the DMV. The DMV doesn’t have a public bathroom and I had to go very bad when I got back in my car. To the point where I didn’t think I could make it home. So I pushed my seat all the way back and Turned around to face the back windshield, and since it was a rainy day, I wasn’t worried about people seeing in, but I could’ve always moved my car to a close by but more private location, I basically squatted in my front seat and rested my knees on the back of my seat, and this device was the perfect height. I drive a sub compact sedan, so I was worried about being able to maneuver my body to use this inside my car. But I can and I weigh 280 pounds. If you think you can’t use it, I promise you, you can. Not only does it not look outdated, it’s very stylish, and when someone sees it in your car, they won’t think. “Ew gross “ like with the clear ones, But it is also very functional and very useful and I was very worried that I was going to miss but I aced it first try. When I was considering buying this product, I was skeptical because of the price tag but I now think that it’s worth every penny.

Comfortable to hold. Nonslip grip. Easy to take apart to clean. The soft silicon rim fits well to the body with no leaking. Works great when camping at night when you don't want to venture out in the dark. Handy for traveling out in the country where there's no convenient restrooms for miles. Also good when your out on your ATV or hiking and really don't want to chance poison ivy. Comes with a neat carrying bag and directions for cleaning. It holds almost a quart (30oz). It's small enough measuring approx. 9" x 6" x 3.5" to fit in most packs. I'm pleased with the quality and it's convenience.
*******update*** 5/2023I can't say enough how much i love this for traveling. We had to wait to pick up someone during a cold, windy, rainy, and very late night with no close bathroom available. So for 4 hours we were stuck in the car. I did not want to get soaked outside and come back in the car all wet and this urinal was a life saver. literally used it 3 times ( drank a lot of water). The car is a tight space and this work perfectly. No mess and just so easy in all aspects. I really recommend this.I have always wanted a women’s portable urinal. I just thought that it would be so handy for those very long road trips that I always take. But I just never took the plunge on ordering one. It wasn’t really a necessity. Until I had a child that gave me more reason to get one. There were very long road trips that he had to go to the bathroom so bad and getting out of the car was not an option. I was always scrambling to find a water bottle. Now I don’t have to with this urinal. I wanted a women’s one because I want to be able to use it as well. I’m embarrassed to say but there were times that I had to go in a bottle too. Let’s just say, it didn’t turn out well. This Boom Loona urinal is the prettiest urinal I’ve ever seen (weird to say). Great quality and the color is very pretty. It is so discreet in a sense where it doesn’t scream urinal (my husband and my son had to ask me what it was). It looks good wherever you put it. I feel like I wouldn’t have to hide this. The design makes it so easy to handle.I can finally pee standing up. Just line it up and go for it. I had no issues while trying it. There was no trickling or spilling. Discarding and cleaning was easy too. Some things I would like to point out though. It was smaller than expected. Which is ok for me, because I wouldn’t want to be lugging a large urinal. Next, the price is a little steep. Forty five dollars is a bit on the high side. Besides that, I do recommend.
First of all, I ask myself why I did not know about this urinal before having my foot surgery. I struggled so much going to bathroom due to pain and discomfort; this urinal would have been ideal.THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS URINAL: It is very comfortable to hold, comfortable on my skin, easy to wash, easy to store, easy to carry( comes with its own cute travel bag), I do not see the urine through the bottle, the color of the urinal is very modern and nice, and very convenient for those moments that you wished you had one. It also holds a large volume of urine (30 ounces).THINGS THAT FELT WEIRD BUT NECESSARY TO DO in order to use this urinal: When I used it seating on the edge of my bed, I was scared and concerned about the urine falling outside the urinal and it was a weird feeling, but if placed in the right position, it really works and the urine will simply fall into the urinal without any mess. When I used it standing, it also felt weird but it worked and it was way easier to aim at the right place of the urinal in order to avoid any mess. I prefer using it standing than seating, but it works both ways.POTENTIAL IMPROVEMENTS: Although the lid seems secure when the urinal is at a standing position, if lay down, the urine drips. Make sure you keep your urinal at an upright position when it contains urine in order to avoid urine spills and mess. It would have been nice for this urinal to have some type of light mechanism for night usage; like glow in the dark kind of thing.TIP: Before washing, make sure to remove the lid and the funnel from urinal slowly in order to avoid any residue of urine on the funnel to splash.MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT HIS URINAL IS the soft funnel that feels very comfortable and the design of the urinal bottle that makes it super comfortable and easy to hold.Overall, I am so happy this portable urinal is part of my life now and I think every woman should have it...
This was perfect for the long drive where I didn't want to use the public toilets or couldn't find a place to go. Used it in the public stall with no issues and emptied it out into the grimey toilet. Rinsed out the urinal and I was good to go. Surprisingly no splashbacks when using this, but get the TP ready to wipe because you don't have an extra hand to grab them after you use this. The urinal was pretty comfortable to use due to the silicone funnel, and it's larger base means less chance of tipping even in the moving car, but I placed it inside a small bucket just in case. Plastic appears durable enough to not crack from accidental drops.
This device IS very convenient. I currently have a UTI (urinary tract infection.. yeah, I said it.. it happens) & lately I’ve gotten up 5x’s a night with at least 3x’s of which I wake my husband and/or the dog starts barking when I go leave the room to pee, so what’s a girl to do 🤷♀️??? Problem? Solution! I also find it hard to go back to bed myself. We are in the car. ‘MOM.. I gotta go!’ Of course we are on the freakin’ throughway on a 4 hr. Trip without an exit for many miles and no shoulder to pull off on. Another problem? Another solution. Not the most personally suiting for my older girls, but certain emergencies call for emergency measures sometimes. I leave a towel in back of the SUV as a cover, lol. It’s an interesting and bizarrely more useful invention idea than one might think until they actually really DO THINK about it, BUT is over $40 a steep price for plastic of this size? I got to say so. If it could find a place to go and empty itself out 👏, but for what it does, I think $20… $25 at the most, that’s a sufficient enough price tag. The slipcover pouch is a nice touch, for travel. Needs frequent washing, I’d say tho :).I like the design, it’s easy to empty and ergonomic, especially for the ladies, but my hubby can make it work too, and yes, the no splashes buys it some points, say vs. a bucket in a car, but considering how much it likely costs to make the product, which isn’t much, the price is inflated in my eyes, but it comes in highly useful for my family & me in my UTI situation right now for sure!!Lower the price, I’ll go up a full star! It’s very good quality for what it is, but what it is is still plastic. But it’s gonna last. It would make a very interesting gift, lol. Maybe for newlyweds who never wanna leave the bedroom AT ALL 😂. It’s more hygienic then a Gatorade bottle, lol. My hubby sometimes uses that.. admittedly.3.5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️ + 1/2** I hope my review has been helpful! **
